14 September 2010 | Darwin-based poster artist Chips Mackinolty has won the Togart Contemporary Art Award, which is open to artists who are either based in the Northern Territory or have a strong connection to it.

Mackinolty won the $15,000 prize for an inkjet on paper work titled Neta, Darwin 1950 - and immediately gave all his winnings to struggling live music venues in the Northern Territory.

The award exhibition will be on view at the Chan Contemporary Art Space in Darwin until 7 October 2010.
