Throughout the month of April, emerging Brisbane-based artist Tyza Stewart will undertake a residency as part of the IMA’s Green Room project platform. Working in Gallery 1, Stewart will produce an ever-growing exhibition, culminating in a closing event on April 30. Since graduating from Queensland College of Art in 2012, Stewart has established a compelling practice that calls into question dominant societal concepts of gender through the use of the artist’s own image in an ongoing self-portraiture series.
