25 June 2012 | Painter Ben Joel and sculptor Anne Neil have been recognised with Lifetime Achievement Awards from Artsource, the peak body for Western Australian artists.

They will be presented with their awards at a function in Perth on 10 July 2012, hosted by critic and
Australian Art Collector contributor Andrew Frost.

“Ben Joel has influenced countless painters through his exemplary teaching and art practice, while Anne Neil’s work can be enjoyed by anyone moving down St George’s Terrace or driving on our freeways and highways,” says Artsource executive director Jude van der Merwe.

It is the fourth time Artsource has run the awards, which spotlight artists who have been working at a high level for 25 years or more and who have made a lasting contribution to the Western Australian arts community.
