Yvonne East, Pain and Revelation. 2011

An exhibition by Yvonne East combining traditional drawing and painting techniques with multimedia installation to investigate physical and psychological connections with the Australian landscape. This body of work interrogates the psyche of land and the dissonance created by a comparison of urban and rural. The body, mind and soul are represented by subjects caught in the stasis of what may be religious epiphany. Breaking Ground is the inaugural Country Arts SA visual artist Professional Development Award providing an artist with the opportunity to develop a body of work to exhibit along with a mentorship to further their career.
